After the success of the first edition, Château de Valençay will celebrate Christmas for the second time, during Christmas holidays. : Christmas candles, pastry workshops, illuminations…

From 17th December to 1st January

It happenned in 2015 !

In a magical illuminated setting, visitors will discover gardens filled with gold Christmas trees, Renaissance arches transformed into nativity scenes and, in the Cour d’Honneur, a beautifully illuminated façade like a series of magnificent paintings to please the eye of both adults and children alike.

The inside of the castle will also be decorated for Christmas, including the famous kitchens of Antonin Carême, which will smell of delicious spice cakes…during the Christmas Cakes” workshops for children and adults, led by Stéphane Lopez, the famous and talented pastry chef of Romorantin.
In the Salon du Prince, usually closed to visitors, a Christmas Wreath” workshop will be offered by by Atelier Floral Delphine Tourne, to help you make one of the most popular Christmas decorations.

And of course, Santa Claus will be there every afternoon to take orders for Christmas morning surprises from good little boys and girls!

To warm up from the chilly weather, Valençay winemakers will concoct delicious hot drinks… mulled wine and warm fruit juice with cinnamon to enjoy in the Cour d’Honneur or in the gardens on the Duchess’ terrace.

The decorated gift shop will offer a wide range of objects and gift sets filled with Christmas goodies, works of art and special holiday collections.

A drawing contest for children aged 5 to 10 years will be organised on Saturday 12 December all day long. Gifts will be given to those with the best drawings of Château de Valençay.

Finally, on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 December, from 6pm to 10pm, the castle and its gardens will be decorated with thousands of candles to celebrate the magic of Christmas and the beginning of the holidays.
