Édouard André,
a landscaper adventurer
Château de Valençay, in partnership with the Mission Val de Loire, wished to pay tribute to famous French landscaper Edouard André, who designed the French gardens of Valençay at the end of his life after having travelled the world as a successful artist and passed on his passion through treaties and publications to amateurs and blooming artists, at the turn of the 20th century.
The exhibition will be held in the fully restored Galerie d’Estampes, overlooking the gardens. It will include information boards, botanical paintings, plans of gardens and sketches to immerse visitors in the world of plants and gardens.
As part of the “Jardins en Val de Loire 2017” regional operation
