Jazz by Candlelight
The real event of the summertime, candlelit evenings are on the program again for this year, with a focus on jazz. With more than 3,000 candles illuminating the château and its gardens, visitors will be carried away by the musicians of the Tous Dehors ensemble during their show, A Brief History of the Opera, Opus 2.

The 2019 edition of the château’s candlelight evenings will showcase jazz with Laurent Dehors and his Brief History of Opera.
Laurent Dehors dives with delight into the lyric repertoire. From Monteverdi to Bizet and from Mozart to Bernstein, he invites listeners to discover essential pieces and lesser-known work alike. On stage, he will be accompanied by four musicians who skillfully move from one instrument to the other: glockenspiel and balafon, trombone and tuba, banjo and guitar, piano and prepared piano, and the list goes on…
Together they will respond to a solar soprano who loves to combine touches of opera with jazz.
The arrangements are as challenging as they are respectful and provide a new perspective on secular pieces, based on the swing of certain tunes and the spleen of other movements. A brief history that is simultaneously bold and gentle…
As a preamble to the concert, Laurent Dehors and his Tous Dehors ensemble will provide the musical accompaniment to visitors’ enchanted wandering by candlelight.
